Factual Hires PlaceIQ's Mason for European Push

US-based location data provider Factual has announced a drive for growth in Europe, and appointed former PlaceIQ exec Mandeep Mason as Managing Director for the region.

Mandeep MasonBased in Los Angeles, the firm provides location data to developers, publishers, advertisers and enterprises. Its Geopulse Audience product helps build defined audience segments, spanning demographic, geographic, behavioural and brand affinities; while its Geopulse Proximity tool uses popular location-based targeting techniques - such as geofencing and 'geoconquesting' - to deliver ads to mobile users based on where they currently are.

Mason (pictured) joins from location intelligence specialist PlaceIQ, where he served as General Manager, EMEA. Prior to this, he worked for Microsoft as Director, Sales Strategy EMEA for Mobile and In-App Advertising; and before this he spent five years working in leadership roles in Nokia's mobile advertising group (including time at subsidiary NAVTEQ). In addition, Mason has held advisory board roles for the IAB and MMA in Europe.

In his new position, Mason will focus on the expansion of Factual's European presence, while expanding its footprint in London, where the firm opened an office in early 2016.
