Umbel Names New CEO and CFO
Austin, Texas-based digital audience measurement specialist Umbel has promoted Lisa Pearson to the role of Chief Executive Officer, while appointing Iser Cukierman as Chief Financial Officer.
 Umbel uses social media data to deliver insights for sports and entertainment clients about the people who engage with a site, service or brand, via a data management platform which also helps them engage with those people.
Pearson (pictured) joined the company in 2015 as company President, overseeing product management, sales, services, marketing and business development. Prior to this, she was CMO at Bazaarvoice, having begun her career at American Express, and later worked for companies such as Euro RSCG and Dell. In her new role, she takes over from founder Higinio 'H.O.' Maycotte, who is moving into the position of Executive Chairman of the Board, and CEO of Umbel spin-out Pilosa, described as an 'in-memory index with bitmap compression algorithms'.
Cukierman brings more than 25 years of financial experience from Cimation, Virtual Bridges, Fiserv and Accenture to his new role, overseeing finance and operations. Commenting on the changes, Maycotte said: 'Lisa is the ideal leader to scale Umbel. I've known this since the moment I met her. She has been an awesome business partner, and I have learned a tremendous amount from her wisdom and leadership. Iser has a long track record growing start-ups, and his strategic influence will be just as profound. It is a dream to have Umbel in such capable hands'.
