mTAB Buys Gamma Associates, Extends into Asia

American survey analysis and data visualisation software provider mTAB has acquired its European partner Gamma Associates for an undisclosed sum. The firm has also opened an office in Japan, and partnered with MR training firm Analytic Edge in China.

Alex GelmanmTAB tools are used to draw comparisons between historic and present research data, and organise, analyse and report results. UK-based research software provider Gamma, which provides reporting and research data tools to the automotive industry, has been mTAB's partner in Europe since 1990, and through a deal with MR consultancy Alkman, developed the mTABView automated reporting tool.

Following the acquisition, mTAB and Gamma will be fully integrated under the leadership of mTAB CEO Alex Gelman (pictured), who comments: 'Gamma's focus on quality and customer success fits perfectly with our values at mTAB. Gamma's data visualization software, mTABView, will become one of the core pillars of the mTAB platform and growth story'.

The Japan office and Analytic Edge partnership are the firm's first such forays into Asia. Former GfK and J.D. Power exec Keiko Yoshimi has been appointed as Head of the newly formed mTAB Asia Pacific office in Tokyo, and comments: 'As we plan to expand our business globally, establishing an operating entity in this important market was a natural decision for us'.
