Nepa Continues Pursuit of Growth

Sweden-based research firm Nepa has announced third quarter growth in net sales of 18.8%, to SEK 45.6m (USD 5.41m). Major investment continues to hit EBIT, which dropped to SEK -8.6m.

Fredrik ÖstgrenNepa says gross profit increased by 21.6% to SEK 33.1m in the quarter, but diluted EPS were SEK -1.14 (-0.38 in Q3 a year earlier). In the first nine months of the year, net sales were up 17.3% to SEK 151.7m, and EBIT was SEK -20.7m.

CEO Fredrik Östgren (pictured) says the quarter saw his company beginning to implement the four growth initiatives presented in connection with its IPO in the spring of 2016. Growth of Nepa UK has been strong; sales activity to establish the company in the US is building; growth in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and India continues; and the firm's proprietary product platform ActionHub is expanding after investment, and is now seen as scalable for rapid growth.

According to Östgren, 'We have invested in our initiatives through personnel in product development and expansion to realize our goals. Combined with a strengthened product portfolio and growing international businesses, we have the right conditions for continued progress on our four growth initiatives as we enter into the second year'.
