Two Presidential Promotions for IDG

Technology, media and marketing services company IDG (International Data Group) has promoted Charles Lee to President, US of IDG Communications, while York von Heimburg becomes the division's President International.

IDG Communications provides tech buyers with insights and data on intent and engagement, drawn from its portfolio of titles, which includes Computerworld, PCWorld and Macworld. Lee was previously the President of IDG's Global Strategic Marketing Services group, where he led a team of 80 marketing services professionals, providing marketing strategy and consultation, content creation, platform services, creative development services, and primary research across all media platforms. Before joining the group in 2005, he spent more than a decade at Ziff Davis Media. In his new role, Lee will manage all US media operations, including sales, editorial, events and the CIO Executive Council (comprised of hundreds of the CIOs who form a peer-advisory resource); while continuing to oversee the worldwide strategic marketing services business for IDG Communications.

Von Heimburg is currently CEO and President of IDG Communications Media AG in Germany, and now adds responsibility for all internationally-owned and operated business units and the international publishing/licensing team. He has more than 30 years of experience in the IT media sector, having previously served as CEO and President of IDG Communications Media AG, and spent ten years as Chairman of IDG Global Solutions.
