comScore Canada Leader Steps Down
Brent Bernie, General Manager of comScore Canada, will be leaving the company on January 1st 2019 after eighteen years, and will be replaced by Bryan Segal, currently VP of Sales.
Bernie's next move has not yet been disclosed. He joined comScore in 2002, before which he worked for Media Metrix / Jupiter Media Metrix as EVP Sales North America / President - the firm was acquired by comScore in 2002. Earlier, he was President of Harris Media Systems, and VP Group Sales Service Manager at Nielsen Media Research, where he worked for more than nine years. He began his career as a Marketing Research Analyst at Global Television Network.
Segal is a veteran of comScore: he joined as a Research Analyst and Account Manager in 2000, and took on the role of VP of Sales in 2004. He left the company in 2014, initially serving as CEO of the Engagement Labs and then MD of Videology, before returning to comScore a year ago. Segal and Bernie worked closely together for many years, and Bernie said of Segal's appointment: 'Bryan has helped me establish the company as a trusted partner for digital measurement. I am positive he will continue working to help our customers and the Canadian industry move forward'.
In tribute to Bernie, Will Hodgman, EVP of International Markets, added: 'Brent has made significant contributions to comScore and to the industry. During his time at the firm, Brent built the Canadian business from scratch, transforming it into the authority of digital measurement that it is today. In addition, Brent's contribution to the industry at large - with his work at the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada (IAB) and the National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) - is inspiring and a true testament to his values'.
