Further Funding for Voxpopme

Birmingham, UK-based video analytics firm Voxpopme has secured a £1.5m follow-on investment from Mercia Technologies Plc, which it says will be used to scale a business already set to double its revenues this year.

Dave CarruthersVoxpopme was founded in 2013 by Tom Williams, Dave Carruthers and Andrew Barraclough. The firm offers an app collecting consumer feedback on brands in the form of video responses direct from mobile phones, and including a sentiment analysis feature. It recently announced partnership integrations with technology platforms Delvinia, Digsite, Invoke Solutions and Protobrand, and already had partnerships with companies including Kantar and Zappistore.

The company has recently expanded into the customer experience market with the launch of VideoCX, and appointed US-based Jon Carbone as VP overseeing the new product.

Mercia first invested in the company last autumn, via its EIS funds, and made its first direct investment in March this year. With the latest injection, Voxpopme will add personnel in its technical and commercial teams across the UK, the US and Australia.

CEO Dave Carruthers (pictured) comments: 'We're delighted to receive further investment from Mercia Technologies. Their continued support is enabling us to scale our team, push the boundaries of video technology even further and, most importantly, delight our clients with enterprise level solutions. The ever-increasing appetite for video feedback within the world's leading brands and consumers' growing affinity for sharing their thoughts via video sets the perfect stage for our next phase of growth. With Mercia's backing, we anticipate the adoption of agile video feedback to pick up even more pace over the next 12 months'.
