Expansion for Kantar Worldpanel in Sri Lanka

Shopper behaviour specialist Kantar Worldpanel has enhanced its FMCG consumer panel in Sri Lanka, expanding it to 4,500 households across the country.

Himalee Madurasinghe and K. RamakrishnanIn a joint initiative with Kantar LMRB, 300 new households have been added to the existing panel. Technical enhancements introduced during 2019 will mean that data will be captured by tablets and delivered through the analysis tool WorldpanelOnline, rolled out across the country during the year. The first dataset for the enhanced Sri Lankan consumer panel will be available in April.

In addition, Worldpanel has implemented a range of international best practices offering clients integration of Sri Lanka data into their regional and global servicing. This includes the portfolio of 'Expert Solutions' - bespoke analytical services which can support clients' decision-making in business areas such as retail, media or innovation.

Kantar LMRB Chief Executive Himalee Madurasinghe (pictured left) says the improved panel, backed by the knowledge of the local team, will help identify more growth opportunities for FMCG players. K. Ramakrishnan (right) General Manager and Country Head South Asia at Kantar Worldpanel, adds: 'The new service connects the Sri Lankan consumer panel with the global network of panel services we operate in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa. This will allow us to provide additional understanding to anticipate shopper and consumer behaviour as well as global context for Sri Lankan brands wanting to grow at home or abroad'.
