Adobe Names India Research Team Head

Marketing and image software giant Adobe has hired long-time IBM exec Nanda Kambhatla to lead its Research team in India, based in Bengaluru.

Nanda KambhatlaAdobe recently launched what it describes as the industry's first real-time platform for customer experience management (CXM), using customer profiles to deliver personalized experiences.

Kambhatla (pictured) was previously VP of Enterprise AI at Symphony AI, helping develop the firm's technology platform. Earlier, he spent more than two decades at IBM, in various capacities including as an IBM Distinguished Engineer and an IBM Master Inventor, having joined in 1997 as a researcher, before moving to the role of Manager, Statistical Text Analytics Group for IBM Research.

In his new role, Kambhatla will lead AI, NLP, machine learning, big data analytics and insight, and content intelligence technology initiatives. He will report to Shriram Revankar, VP and Fellow, Adobe Research, who comments: 'Nanda brings decades of valuable research experience and a deep understanding across multiple areas of Adobe's interest. With this appointment we further strengthen Adobe's commitment to transforming digital experiences, through innovation'.
