PureSpectrum Debuts Respondent Scoring System

Online sample marketplace PureSpectrum has launched PureScore, an advanced machine learning-driven respondent scoring system designed to block 'low-quality' respondents from taking surveys.

Mark MenigLaunched in 2016 by former Cint US MD Michael McCrary, PureSpectrum provides a marketplace for buyers and sellers of online sample. Last year, the firm rolled out a DIY eCommerce insights platform called Storefront, which automates survey creation with custom configurable inputs, data collection and report generation, allowing researchers to return insights to clients within 24 hours.

The new system calculates individual respondent quality on a scale of 0-10, and does not allow respondents with a 'PureScore' of 5 and below to enter buyer surveys. The model finds patterns in profiles and behavior for each respondent, and the more they deviate from the ideal, the lower their PureScore. According to the firm, this helps researchers and brands remain confident that only vetted respondents, regardless of panel, will be allowed to take their survey.

The service has been developed by Chief Product Officer Mark Menig (pictured), who comments: 'In the market research industry, there is always a need for fraud prevention. At PureSpectrum, we recognize the importance of data quality, are fully committed to it and will always help our buyers make sure they are using the best technology available. PureScore was a natural next step in advancing quality standards'.
