Localytics Sold to Upland for $67.7m

In the US, mobile engagement platform Localytics has been acquired by work management solutions firm Upland Software for $67.7m in cash.

Jack McDonaldBoston, MA-based Localytics, which also has offices in San Francisco and London, taps into users' data to deliver targeted and personalized engagement campaigns, including push and in-app messages. Last year, the firm launched a Personalization Performance Calculator, to help brands understand the level and impact of their mobile personalization efforts.

Following the buy, Localytics' mobile app marketing solution will be used to expand Upland's customer experience management (CXM) cloud with additional insights about consumer behavior and preferences. The acquisition also brings Upland approximately $20m in annualized revenues.

Upland Chairman and CEO Jack McDonald (pictured) comments: 'The addition of Localytics to our CXM Cloud offering now allows us to offer sophisticated mobile personalization at scale. Our acquisition pipeline remains robust, and we are actively pursuing additional opportunities to build out our cloud offerings'.
