Capgemini to Buy BI and Data Science Firm Advectas
Outsourcing specialist Capgemini is to acquire Swedish business intelligence (BI) and data science company Advectas. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
From its offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Malmö, Advectas' 200+ strong team offers a range of BI solutions; data management and data science services; consulting, planning and simulation, to clients across multiple industry sectors. As part of the acquisition, Advectas will join Capgemini's Insights & Data business unit, which focuses on data, analytics and artificial intelligence.
According to Advectas, for its clients, the acquisition will provide access to a partner with a wider range of services, increased delivery capacity, and additional innovation skills. In Sweden, Advectas will continue to operate under its existing brand name, while in Denmark, it will transfer to the Capgemini brand, but act as one company.
Stefan Olsson (pictured), CEO and President of Advectas, comments: 'In Capgemini we saw a number of fundamental values that mirror our own, such as team spirit, freedom and trust, as well as a deeply collaborative mind-set. We had reached a stage where our large clients wanted to expand and evolve our solutions for their global marketplaces. By joining Capgemini, we will be able to offer them this scale along with many other integrated digital and cloud-based capabilities to support their long term business goals'.
