Senior Hires for Survation

London-based pollster Survation has hired Carl Shoben as Director of Strategic Communications and Madhur Mehra as Director of Research.

Madhur Mehra and Carl ShobenShoben brings fifteen years of experience in communications and strategy, leading change, public health campaigns and crisis communications in the NHS, including five years as a special adviser to Tony Blair.

Mehra joins from Ipsos Mori where he worked for six years, most recently as a Senior Director. Earlier he was Head of Consumer Insights for Nielsen UK & Ireland, and he began his career in India for NFO, GfK Mode before joining Kantar in the UK. His expertise includes quant consumer insights, brand tracking, market understanding, innovation and new product development.

The two new arrivals will work with the firm's Strategic Qualitative Consultant Jane Carn, a veteran of YouGov, Ipsos Mori and ICM; and with founder and CEO Damian Lyons Lowe, who comments: 'Given the unprecedented challenge facing the UK's businesses, workers, vulnerable groups and society as a whole at the current time, we are very fortunate to have assembled such an experienced leadership team. This is of course an important time for research organisations who are trusted sources of opinion based statistics, data but what is more important is that genuine insight is gained from that data to help direct actionable strategic decisions'.

The enhanced team has already been working on a number of Covid-19 related projects, including setting up segmented UK population tracking for the virus, with a specific focus on the degree of preparedness of UK businesses; and the tracking of attitudes in the general population, workers including the self-employed, HR professionals, self-employed professionals and students (including students who work).
