Purple Debuts Social Responsibility Dashboard

UK-based consumer targeting firm Purple has launched the Social Responsibility Dashboard, which allows businesses to track and monitor the number of people in their venues in order to comply with social distancing guidelines relating to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Purple Debuts Social Responsibility DashboardPurple gives consumers free WiFi access through their social media accounts at retail, hospitality and leisure venues. Real-time analytics are gathered to understand who is visiting and using the service, how long they are online, and their age, gender and any other relevant information - with resulting data used to target consumers with personalised coupons and e-mail campaigns. Last year, the company acquired US-based indoor navigation specialist LogicJunction, whose 'wayfinding' technology guides people through physical environments such as shopping centres, supermarkets and hospitals.

The new Social Responsibility Dashboard monitors a venue's 'social distancing threshold' using a red, amber, green (RAG) system, so business owners can see when action needs to be taken. Features include a built-in smart counter for monitoring visitor numbers, and additional survey tools such as a 'Hygiene Score', to help companies understand how safe visitors feel while in the venue.

Gavin Wheeldon, Purple CEO, says the tool will help clients successfully and safely reopen. 'We know visitors will want to feel assured of their safety before returning, and be given the opportunity to feedback on their concerns. As we move forward in the recovery period and beyond', he adds, 'we expect more and more businesses to share this type of information with their customers'.
