Nielsen Given Five-Year Danish Video Contract

The contracting authority representing the main Danish TV broadcasters has given Nielsen a five-year contract to provide 'cross-media video measurement' data in the country from 1st January 2022.

Nielsen Gets Five YearsUsing its television panel technologies - Streaming and Nano Meters - as well as the digital device panel, census solutions and methodologies, Nielsen will be tasked with bringing to the Danish market a total view of video audiences across traditional TV-distribution and streaming platforms. In addition to linear TV broadcast, this will include BVOD (broadcast video on demand) services on connected TVs and digital devices in the home.

Nielsen's hybrid solution combines its single source panel with census-based measurement to track how people engage with video across broadcast and streaming platforms.

Frederik Barnholdt, Head of Market & Performance Measurement at TV 2 and Chairman of the Danish TV stations steering committee, comments: 'The viewing behaviour in Danish homes is changing rapidly and we are thrilled to select Nielsen as our endorsed measurement provider to help buyers and sellers monetise it. Nielsen's panel of 1,750 households is the largest panel we have had to date and this will ensure a greater understanding of video consumption on broadcast and streaming platforms'.
