Research & Results Trade Show to Close

Research & Results, the organiser of the annual Munich, Germany-based trade show for market research, data and insights professionals, has decided to close its whole business because of the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.

The firm was founded by former GfK / Philip Morris researcher Hans Reitmeier; Heinrich Fischer, a former exec at print industry trade magazine Druck & Medien; and Martin Sippel, who previously worked in product management for Cellway Telecoms. Their annual two-day trade show has regularly attracted more than 3,000 participants and almost 200 exhibiting companies from Germany and abroad, while offering a programme of presentations and workshops on the latest industry topics and trends. In addition, the business printed the Research & Results magazine seven times a year, with an average circulation of 3,600 copies, alongside its annual Research & Results StudioGuide listings; and sent a weekly e-mail newsletter to nearly 5,000 subscribers, offering news, job ads and details about industry events taking place around the world.

This year's trade show was due to take place on 28th and 29th October. However, in an e-mail sent to potential participants earlier today, the Research & Results team explained that while it is now possible to stage events and trade shows in Germany, the need to comply with related regulations imposed by the Bavarian government, while ensuring the safety of exhibitors, attendees and the team, makes it no longer viable to organise the Show.

In the e-mail, the founders stated: 'As the organization of our event is our main business, we are no longer in a position to publish our magazine and our e-mail newsletter, and present our online portal. We will, therefore, close our business. We are very sorry to have to communicate our decision, and thank you very much for our mutually successful business relationship during the past sixteen years. It was a pleasure to work with you'.

R+R was in many respects the biggest, and in DRNO's opinion the best trade show out there for this industry, and its closure will send alarm signals through the rest of the sector's events industry.
