Insights People Gets Expansion Funds

UK-based kids, parents and family specialist The Insights People has raised £500k in investment funding, which it will use for international expansion, and to create eight new jobs at its Manchester headquarters. The firm has also appointed Stefan Lampinen as Chairman.

The company comprises Kids Insights, offering marketers a range of resources on the consumption and behaviour trends of 3-to-18-year-olds; and Parents Insights, a market intelligence resource for all things 'parenting, mum and baby'. With its recent launches in Latin America via Brazil and Mexico, and in Canada and Australia, the company now surveys more than 4,000 children every week, across eleven countries on five continents.

New funding has come from business angel network DSW Angels, which focuses on UK regional scale-up companies. Nick Richardson, founder and CEO of The Insights People, comments: 'The investment from DSW is an important next step to enable our further international expansion and to increase our investment in our research and technology-based teams in Manchester'.

Lampinen (pictured) joins as Chairman, after serving in senior executive roles at Electronic Arts, NOKIA, Microsoft and Warner Bros; on Minecraft's Advisory Board; and co-founding the Swedish Games Industry Association.
