Bank Buys 'Business Laboratory' Data Science Firm

In the US, data scientist George E. Danner is joining merchant bank Valedor Partners, which has acquired his firm Business Laboratory, LLC. He will now lead the bank's Valedor Data Science Services division.

He comments: 'Data Science has emerged as one of the fundamental business tools of this automation era, and we intend to use it aggressively on behalf of our portfolio company management teams and clients'.

Valedor's offer includes consulting solutions for early-stage and mature businesses, featuring advanced modeling and analytical techniques - and its existing Data Science Services (DSS) team has worked for clients in energy, aerospace and defense, manufacturing, commercial real estate, medical, logistics and supply chain management.

Founding partner Jeremy Radcliffe says of the latest news: 'George and his team help public and private companies better understand their business and the challenges they face through systems mapping, simulation models, and other data analytics tools. The results of these models provide companies the information they desperately need to implement change that can drive significant and tangible performance improvement. Danner worked for Arthur Andersen for five years before founding his own analytics consultancy Industrial Science, LLC, in 2002. He sold the company to nGenera in 2007 and worked there for two further years before forming Business Laboratory.
