SurveyMonkey Partners for US Election Hub

DIY research pioneer SurveyMonkey has teamed up with dashboard software giant Tableau and digital media company Axios to launch a hub for data relating to the forthcoming US Presidential election.

Jon CohenThe partnership combines SurveyMonkey's polling infrastructure, Tableau's self-service visual analytics platform, and Axios' storytelling, and will allow users to explore national and state-level sentiment in the lead up to the 2020 vote.

Data from SurveyMonkey's two million daily users will feed into Tableau's data visualization technology, enabling visitors to filter sentiment by key variables like location, race and gender. Axios reporters will provide expert analysis; and visitors to the Election 2020 minisite on tableau.com can then run their own analysis.

SurveyMonkey Chief Research Officer Jon Cohen (pictured) says the election will have 'worldwide repercussions', noting: 'People everywhere are watching - and SurveyMonkey, Tableau, and Axios are focused on providing the clearest possible picture of the campaign using the latest, most comprehensive data available to help everyone anticipate what's coming next'. Steve Schwartz, Director of Public Affairs at Tableau, comments: 'People are naturally inclined to view elections through their own neighborhoods, issues, and leaders. By visualizing polling data and making it easy to explore, anyone can see and understand their community - and the nation - beyond their own experiences and perspectives'.
