W2O Buys Healthcare Analyst Elysia Group

Healthcare sector marketing solutions firm W2O Group has acquired Elysia Group, a health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) consulting firm operating in the USA and Asia Pacific.

Elysia was founded in 2014 and provides analytical and modelling services for pharmaceutical and medical device clients. The company will now 'integrate closely' with health economics and research consulting firm Discern Health, which W2O acquired in July. The firm, founded by Jim Weiss in 2001 and now employing around 1,500 people, also picked up social media analytics platform Symplur, in April; and has acquired four other businesses since partnering with New Mountain Capital in 2019.

Elysia Group's co-founders, CEO Bruce Wang and President Wesley Furnback have joined W2O as Health Economics and Real-World Evidence Practice Leaders reporting to Rita Glaze, Practice Leader, Commercial Strategy and Market Access; and the three will work together to expand internationally the firm's offerings in economic modeling and real-world evidence.
