Kochava Buys Thalamus Media Research Database

In the US, data solutions company Kochava has acquired Thalamus, a research database of ad vendors, which has now been re-branded Kochava Media Index. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Charles ManningFounded in 2014 by Garrett Gan, Thalamus built a search engine for paid media, with 50,000 registered media buyers using the service to research advertising opportunities. The Thalamus Performance Trading Desk was developed to enable buyers to execute cost-per-install, cost-per-acquisition, and cost-per-sale campaigns across all platforms.

The Index will connect buyers and sellers through data about each media source. Users can view analytics on which brands are searching or engaging with their profile. Advertisers can use filters or keywords to search for ad vendors across multiple channels, and ad vendors can use it to find in-market prospects.

Charles Manning (pictured), founder and CEO of Kochava, comments: 'The addition of Thalamus to our product offering is another exciting step forward as we continue to diversify Kochava's exceptional solutions to the digital advertising ecosystem. With our new Kochava Media Index, brands can compare and contrast different ad vendors based on KPI offerings and ratings, contract detail, minimum spend requirements, campaign conversion goals, with the ability to connect with vendors via the platform'.
