UZE Mobility Expands Ad Targeting to US
Bremen, Germany-based company UZE Mobility, which operates a real-time vehicle ad platform with targeting based on location and weather, has launched in New York City and says it plans to expand across the US.
Launched in June with EUR 7.2m of seed funding, UZE Mobility has built large digital advertising boards which attach to vehicles, displaying banner advertising while on public roads. The boards use artificial intelligence (AI) and sensor technology to capture geolocation data, responding to their location in real-time; as well as situational weather-related data to determine advertising content. For instance, to advertise ice cream on sunny days, and umbrellas when it rains.
The ad 'boards', known as UZE Ads Kits, use patented E-Ink displays mounted on trucks or vans, which interact with the UZE Mobility data marketplace, based on data that accumulates every second in the databanks of automotive and IT companies and cities. Through the proprietary advanced sensor technology and artificial intelligence, advertisers can personalize, target, and adapt ads in real-time, using anonymized user and environmental data.
To lead its US efforts, UZE has hired Cindy Jeffers (pictured), former CEO & CTO of publisher Salon Media Group, to serve as US President and COO. Alexander Jablovski, CEO/CTO and co-founder of UZE, comments: 'What we discovered early on in building UZE was that transportation yielded an entirely new platform for advertisers. At UZE, we're breaking down silos across the value chain to reach an untapped market that includes over 17 million commercial vehicles to serve in the US alone. UZE has been able to drive advertiser sales using proprietary sensor data that helps us deliver more precise ad targeting.'
