Lucid Appointment Prioritises Diversity and Community

Programmatic sampling and research tech company Lucid has appointed Deborah Elam as its newest board member, with a remit to help the company prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion; and expand its impact on the New Orleans community.

Deborah ElamLucid provides access to first-party survey data in more than a hundred countries, bringing together a global community of sample buyers and suppliers in its Marketplace. The firm was founded in 2010, has offices throughout North America, and in EMEA and APAC. In December it promoted Stephanie Comardelle to serve in the new role of Chief of Staff.

Elam (pictured) is a New Orleans native and resident, and will tap local connections to help the team work with its local community including those with many Louisiana collegiate school presidents. She worked for thirty years at GE, rising to become the tech first African American female officer and held the role of Chief Diversity Officer for fifteen years. She was also President of the GE Foundation, leading an initiative to expand job opportunities in the New Orleans community. After leaving GE she founded and ran Corporate Playbook, a business consulting firm in New Orleans focused on executive coaching and strategic solutions to elevate diversity, inclusion, and philanthropy in organizations globally.

She joins current board members Patrick Comer, Brett Schnittlich, Walton Comer, Andrew Paul, Russ Pyle and Carl Sparks. Don Dodge will be stepping down from the board but remains a shareholder in the company. Comer says of the appointment: 'We are thrilled and honored to welcome Deb to our board. It is important that Lucid prioritizes diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as well as extend opportunities to give back to the community that we are thankful to call home. I look forward to working with her on key initiatives as we continue to evolve our organization'.
