MRBA Launches 'Donate a Smile' Auction Fundraiser

UK industry charity the Market Research Benevolent Association (MRBA) is launching its annual fundraising auction on the International Day of Happiness on 20th March. This year's event will be known as the 'Donate a Smile' auction.

The MRBA is funded by donations from across the market research sector, and since 1977 has provided financial support and advice to UK-based workers and former workers in any aspect of market research. Since its formation, MRBA has supported more than 1,000 colleagues and given out over £1m, with last year's auction - the association's key fundraising activity - raising £5,300.

This year, the auction will be held via online platform 32auctions and items will be available to bid on from 9th to 23rd March 2021. Supporters have already volunteered to take part, including Respondi, Motif, Sample Answers and Keen as Mustard, and a variety of items will be available - from tickets to industry events, to flower subscriptions and jewellery. The MRBA says it welcomes further donations, and suggests donations of items such as event tickets, gift hampers and accessories. Money raised will help people who have worked in insights financially, educationally, and will support their mental health by funding relevant support services.

Ian Brace, Chairman of MRBA, comments: 'Now more than ever, the industry needs a boost in morale as we enter springtime with uncertainty of the future. The 'Donate a Smile' auction will be focused on raising spirits, as well as fundraising for those in need'.
