Cowling is GIA President

Tony Cowling, Chairman of Taylor Nelson Sofres plc, has been formally elected as President of Gallup International Association (GIA) for a four-year term. The elections took place at the recent 57th Conference and Annual General Meeting of Gallup International Association held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Cowling's wide-ranging experience will help drive the Association's strategic plans to build on existing relationships with clients such as the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, Transparency International, and the World Health Organisation, while increasing awareness of its global surveys.

The Gallup International Association, registered in Zurich was established in 1947 by George H Gallup and his European colleagues. It now has member agencies in 60 countries across the world, conducting market and opinion research in 100 countries. Only one member is allowed per country, and all must agree to a Code of Statutes and observe the Gallup International Quality Standard.
