NORC and AARP Launch Foresight 50+ Panel

Non-partisan research institution NORC at the University of Chicago and over-50s advocacy organization AARP have launched a survey panel called Foresight 50+, to provide insights from older adults living in the US.

NORC and AARP Launch Foresight 50+ PanelForesight 50+ panelists will be asked questions about their experiences, opinions and preferences relating to everything from what they buy to what they think. The panel includes hard-to-reach older adults, including those in rural areas and lower-income households, Spanish speakers, and people with lower levels of formal education. It is probability-based and will draw from NORC's AmeriSpeak multi-client household panel household panels.

A Foresight 50+ Omnibus has also been launched, providing a monthly survey of the US 50+ population's views on current events, plus their brand awareness and consumer sentiment. J. Michael Dennis, NORC SVP and Executive Director of AmeriSpeak, says the launch will make it easier to access the opinions of the rapidly growing older adult population.

Alison Bryant, AARP SVP of Research, adds: 'Foresight 50+ spotlights a demographic that is growing as people live longer and healthier lives. People aged 50 and older shape our society and fuel economic growth, contributing $8.3 trillion to the economy in 2018. Research completed using Foresight 50+ will bring greater awareness of how people over 50 are shaping our society, where they stand on issues, and what they need to live their best lives'.
