Publisher Wiley Names Jay Flynn Head of Research

In the US, research and education publishing company Wiley has promoted Jay Flynn to Executive Vice President of its Wiley Research division. He replaces Judy Verses, who joined in 2015 and is leaving the organization for personal reasons.

Jay FlynnFounded in 1807 and headquartered in New Jersey, Wiley publishes online scientific, technical, medical and scholarly journals, books and other content, to support universities, businesses and individuals. Flynn (pictured) joined in 2010 as VP and Director of Web Strategy and Business Development, before being promoted to VP and MD of Research Publishing, and most recently, Chief Product Officer, Research. Earlier he worked for Cengage Learning as VP and Publisher of Social Science, K-12 and Research Databases, and before this he worked for Wolters Kluwer as EVP, Clinical Support, and Elsevier as Business Implementation Manager.

In his new role, Flynn will lead Wiley's Open Research Strategy, reporting to President and CEO Brian Napack, who comments: 'Jay brings vision and deep experience to this critical role. As we publish more and expand our portfolio of digital research solutions, Jay and his team will continue to enable the growing success of millions of researchers worldwide.
