Norstat Buys CG Research for More Netherlands Expansion

Data collection company Norstat has further expanded in the Netherlands, through the acquisition of Hoorn-based CG Research. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CG Research specialises in sourcing participants, and conducting online studies and UX research. The acquisition adds to Norstat's recent takeover of Amsterdam-based Respondenten.nl, which also has an office in Amersfoort, and the two companies will eventually be merged to become Norstat Netherlands. The merger will offer a 'one-stop shop' for data collection and market research in the Netherlands, with approximately EUR 5m in revenues and 40 employees.

Yvette Huitema (pictured), MD at Respondenten.nl, will become Country Manager of Norstat Netherlands, supported by Merel Marcedo as General Manager. Merik te Grotenhuis, founder and CEO of CG Research, will stay on for a six-month period, to support the post-merger integration.

The purchase of CG Research is Norstat's fourth deal in 2021, and the group is now aiming for consolidated revenues of approximately EUR 64m in 2021. Norstat CEO Erling Eriksen comments: 'This acquisition adds both production capabilities and expertise in the Dutch market and the wider Norstat group. CG Research has a very interesting client portfolio, and the deal will strengthen Norstat's ability to handle complex projects while simultaneously increasing our production capabilities in the Dutch market.'
