Funds for In-Store Video Analyst Deep North

US-based in-store video analytics firm Deep North has raised $16.7m in a Series A-1 round of funding, which it will use to make 'key hires' and to expand its services.

Rohan SanilDeep North offers AI-based solutions that read video data from security cameras. Users can retrofit their security systems with analytics features to track consumer behavior, product interaction, traffic patterns and purchasing habits, enabling retailers, shopping malls and building managers to improve real-time decision-making and optimize individual consumer interactions.

New funding has been co-led by Celesta Capital and Yobi Partners, with participation from Conviction Investment Partners (UK), and adds to last year's $25.7m Series A funding round. Toni Nijm, founder and CEO of Yobi Partners, comments: 'We have been early supporters of Deep North and are great believers in the amazing value the platform creates. We are therefore thrilled to join forces with Celesta and Conviction to help Deep North on its growth journey'.
