Data Firm 4 Mile Analytics Merged into S4

Sir Martin Sorrell's digital advertising group S4 Capital has completed the acquisition of Santa Cruz, CA-based developer and data analytics firm 4 Mile Analytics, for an undisclosed sum.

Nick Fogler4 Mile Analytics was founded in 2017 by Nick Fogler (pictured) and its offer also includes UX design, project and product management. Around 50 data specialists help large corporations to create custom data platforms, and revenue was around $6.5m in 2021, with ambitions to double this in 2022. The company will be merged with S4's Media.Monks brand.

Sorrell, who is S4's Executive Chairman, said in a statement: 'Understanding and acting on data is at the heart of the S4 Capital Content, Digital Media and Technology services offering. Therefore, we are delighted to welcome Nick, Sam and their colleagues at 4 Mile Analytics, as we expand our capabilities and partnerships, in particular with Google and their Looker and Google Cloud platforms'. Fogler comments: 'We couldn't be more excited to join forces with Media.Monks and S4 Capital. We see huge opportunities to bring the offerings of the wider group to our clients and provide even more opportunities for our team'.

Separately S4, which is due to announce full year results on March 18th, said in a trading update that 2021 had seen trading in line with market expectations, with strong like-for-like revenue and gross profit growth, far exceeding the 40% forecast in its latest company guidance; and EBITDA margins up strongly in the second half.
