Personalization Platform Appcues Raises Growth Funds

In the US, in-app user engagement and personalization platform Appcues has raised $32.1m in an oversubscribed Series B round of funding, which it will use for product innovation and to scale its operations globally.

Jackson NoelThrough Appcues' platform, non-technical execs can create no-code personalized in-app experiences to engage users. When consumers download an app to their phone, or visit a web site for the first time, the platform personalizes that initial experience. The firm's Appcues Studio enables clients to create and target user segments based on behavior, such as using a specific feature, or an attribute like job title or location. Then, with the Events Explorer module, users can measure product usage and adoption over time.

New funding was led by NewSpring, with participation from Columbia Partners and existing investors Sierra Ventures and Accomplice, bringing the total raised to date to $47.9m. Appcues will invest the new capital into growing its remote team, developing new products and device support, and producing free educational resources.

Jackson Noel (pictured), co-founder and CEO of Appcues, comments: 'We're helping over 1,500 customers build beautiful experiences in their products to deepen engagement, and move faster within their teams. We're thrilled to partner with Marc Lederman and the NewSpring team. They share our values, passion for innovation and, most importantly, our vision of making it as easy to improve product experiences as it is to update a web site'.
