Cello Health Merged with Others to form Lumanity

Private equity firm Arsenal Capital has merged Cello Health and four of its other firms to launch Lumanity, offering medical sector product development, market access and commercialization services. Former Cello Health Insight CEO Nicola Cowland becomes the new firm's Global President, Insight.

Nicola Cowland and Gareth NicolArsenal Capital specializes in building healthcare businesses, and for Lumanity has merged Cello Health, health economic research specialist BresMed, marcoms provider Guidemark Health, market access agency Cyan Health, and medical affairs business Zipher. Lumanity has offices in North America, the UK, the EU and Asia, with more than 1,200 specialists working with pharma and biotech companies to identify and generate the evidence needed to demonstrate the value of their products and bring them to patients at an appropriate price.

Lumanity CEO Jon Williams says innovations in development, market access and commercialization models have not kept pace with advances in oncology, rare diseases, neurological sciences, and cell and gene therapies, resulting in patients not experiencing the full benefits of these medical breakthroughs. To counter this, Lumanity is investing in the development of methods and technologies to demonstrate the value of novel therapeutics to help improve patient outcomes.

Cowland has spent more than sixteen years at Cello Health, the past thirteen as CEO of the group's insight arm. Prior to this she held senior research positions at Andersen Consulting, DuPont Pharmaceuticals, Wyeth and Kantar. Meanwhile Gareth Nicol has been named Group Business Director, after serving in the same job role at Cello Health Insight, and previously holding senior roles at Publics Healthcare firm Verilogue, ICM Unlimited and Ipsos Healthcare.
