V2 Aims High, Recruits Four

Pharma agency V2 GfK has appointed four new staff including Senior Consultants and a Director of Business Development. The firm, which claims to conduct more qualitative research with physicians and patients than any other in the world, now aims to recruit one experienced researcher a month.

GfK acquired a 51% stake in Pennsylvania-based V2 last summer (see www.mrweb.com/drno/news2535.htm ), and the company has grown to encompass 70 professionals, including 40 experienced MR consultants. CEO Richard B. Vanderveer, Ph.D., describes the aim of adding one experienced researcher a month to the team as 'a manageable growth strategy that is in line with our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of quality service for our clients, through the very thoughtful and careful recruitment of only the best, most experienced, marketing research professionals'.

The four new arrivals are Christopher A. Barreto, formerly an Executive Director at TVG; Sally M. Davis, Ph.D., previously an Analyst & Statistician at Data Tactics, Inc. - both joining as Senior Consultants; Katherine Fordyce, joining as a Consultant from Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc., where she served in a number of regulatory affairs positions; and a new Director, Business Development Michelle Silva, who worked previously as a Senior Consultant at the P\S\L Group.

Barreto worked agency side for TVG and Brintnall & Nicolini, Inc. and for clients McNeil Consumer Healthcare and Merck & Co., Inc., beginning his career as a pharmaceutical sales rep with Merck. He holds a master's degree in International Business Management from the American Graduate School of International Management.

Prior to Data Tactics, Davis spent a decade in teaching positions at the University of Pennsylvania, Lehigh University and Bryn Mawr College, instructing on such topics as Psychology and Experimental Methods & Statistics. She earned both her doctorate and master's degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Before Ethicon, Fordyce worked at Duramed Pharmaceuticals, Berlex Labs and Ortho Biotech, in positions including regulatory affairs and chemist. She earned her master's degree in business from Xavier University.

Silva worked in a variety of senior sales and account management positions in pharma MR, at companies including TVG, Consumer Health Sciences and Torre-Lazur McCann Erickson, and also worked in London as a representative for Linares/Calpe Pharmacopia. She has also worked in the non-profit field, with both the Environmental Health Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

In addition to its massive involvement in healthcare and pharma qual, V2 GfK conducts extensive quant research and custom advanced analytics. Its web site is at www.v2gfk.com
