CRG Buys Predictive Intelligence Unit HUUNU

In the US, data collection and consumer insights firm CRG Global Inc. has purchased the HUUNU predictive intelligence asset from prediction market research company Cipher.

Huunu was developed by Nashville-based Consensus Point and delivers a fully customizable platform giving quantifiable predictions on future trends, customer needs, and technology / service ideas. The unit takes a number of hypotheses about how the future might look, and determines their likelihood and timeline, as well as the reasons for this in the words of customers or stakeholders. Consensus Point acquired Cipher three years ago and subsequently took its name.

CRG's acquisition of HUUNU combines the latter's behavior-based predictive intelligence platform with the former's traditional survey-based platform, promising 'a larger range and stronger quality of insights' according to CRG. The HUUNU team, operations and technology all move across to the acquiring company.

CRG President Paul Cunningham says the move marks an important milestone for the company as it diversifies and plans for growth in a continually expanding market. He comments: 'We were very impressed by HUUNU's differentiated behavior-based methodology for prediction market research and are excited to pair this with our existing suite of traditional quantitative and qualitative capabilities'.
