Nielsen's Mazumdar Takes New Fox Ad Research Chief Role

In New York, mass media company Fox Corporation has hired Nielsen's former Chief Data and Research Officer Mainak Mazumdar as its first Executive Vice President, Chief Advertising Research and Analytics Officer.

Mainak MazumdarFox Corporation produces and distributes news, sports and entertainment content through its domestic brands including: FOX News, FOX Sports, the FOX Network, and the FOX Television Stations. Mazumdar (pictured) joins after more than seven years at Nielsen, where he oversaw the creation of the firm's single cross-media solution, Nielsen One. He joined the company in 2016, after senior positions at Simulmedia, GfK and Comscore, having earlier spent seven years at Nielsen as SVP, Data Science.

According to a statement, the new role will boost Fox's data-driven, client-first, cross-divisional advertising sales strategy. Mazumdar will oversee the Ad Sales Research team, which focuses on FOX Entertainment; with Audrey Steele, EVP, Sales Research, Insight, and Entertainment, and her team reporting to Mazumdar. He will also work closely with the other Research teams for FOX Sports, FOX News and Tubi, including with Mike Mulvihill, EVP, Head of Strategy and Analytics at the latter business, FOX Sports.

Mazumdar will report to Marianne Gambelli, President of Advertising Sales, who comments: 'In this constantly evolving media ecosystem, we know that a clear, data-powered, platform-wide approach to monetize at scale will serve our clients, and our business, in the most meaningful way. I am delighted that Mainak has decided to bring his leadership, and his wealth of expertise in data science, research and analytics, to Fox.'
