Comscore Revenue and EBITDA Decline

Comscore has reported a 2.6% drop in Q1 revenue to $91.6m, from $94.0m a year ago, as well as a fall in profit: adjusted EBITDA declined to $5.2m from $6.8m in Q1 2022.

Jon CarpenterThe company, which also reported a first quarter net loss of $8.7m, down from $9.3m in the prior year period after a 6.3% reduction in operating expenses, said its drop in revenue was primarily due to a decline in Digital Ad Solutions revenue. However, during the first quarter, Cross Platform Solutions revenue was up from Q1 2022, with double-digit growth in local TV and 'continued strength' in the company's movies business.

Core operating expenses, which include cost of revenues, sales and marketing, research and development and general and administrative expenses, fell 6.3% to $91.6m, partly driven by employee compensation, which decreased after ongoing restructuring efforts.

CEO Jon Carpenter (pictured) comments: 'Despite a challenging macroeconomic environment, I am pleased with the progress we're making against our strategic and operational priorities. We remain focused on execution, delivering best in class cross-platform audience solutions for our clients and value creation for our shareholders'.
