Changes at Ipsos

Ipsos has announced the promotion of Mike Weisberger to head up the company's Behavioral Tracking Division as Senior VP, succeeding Lynne Armstrong who leaves to become a partner in specialist MR executive search firm The Somerset Group.

Armstrong has worked in MR for more than 20 years, much of it in general management positions at Ipsos and previously at The NPD Group where she was head of HR. The Somerset Group is based in Connecticut and Armstrong will start there in January 2005 after a changeover period working with Weisberger.

In her new role she will be develop a recruiting partnership between Ipsos and The Somerset Group to support the aggressive growth of the former, currently the fastest growing MR company in the US. COO Rupert Walters says his team 'will miss Lynne's leadership and many contributions but are happy to be able to maintain this partnership relationship to help Ipsos efforts on this important front'.

Weisberger joined Ipsos in March of this year from Information Resources, Inc. where he worked for 17 years in a variety of managerial positions. He worked previously in market research at CBS Records (now SONY Music). He has an undergraduate degree from Georgetown and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

According to Walters, 'Mike brings a track record of success in many areas, including management and growth of client business and client service groups, people management and development, senior management oversight of some of IRI's largest accounts, and responsibility for internal systems and processes'.

The Behavioral Tracking division consists of syndicated services including PharmTrends, DietTrends, and BookTrends, and the AFE/Ipsos Consumer Tracking Study; and proprietary services that are used to analyze and cross-reference consumer behavior and attitudes.
