Circana Launches AlwaysOn Analytics

Consumer behaviour specialist Circana, formed from the merger of IRI and The NPD Group, has launched a solution called 'AlwaysOn Analytics', allowing clients to analyze real-time data using advanced algorithms, to give immediate insights.

Amy MarenticIRI (Information Resources Inc.) merged with NPD in April 2022, and the combined company was renamed Circana four months ago. The new AlwaysOn Analytics, which is available through the firm's Unify+ software, offers access to six apps, with additional capabilities planned for Q4 2023. These six include: 'Price Sensitivities', providing businesses with real-time data and insights through which to make pricing and promotion decisions; 'Price Opportunity' to identify revenue growth opportunities, optimize pricing strategies, and maximize profitability; and 'Price Monitoring', to check price execution compliance across products and geographies.

The other three apps currently included are 'Incrementality Analysis', offering a 'holistic view' of shelf and space changes and measurement across items, brands, segments and categories; 'Commercial Spend Optimization', to help businesses optimize the allocation of their investments across media, marketing and pricing; and 'Inflation Monitor', through which businesses can evaluate their pricing strategies compared to competitors, react to mix impact, and identify in-the-moment pricing opportunities.
