dscout Adds Usability and 'Contributor Seat' Features

In the US, human experience platform dscout has launched a usability testing feature; and added a new user type, the Contributor Seat, allowing stakeholders to get more involved in the project process without handholding by research specialists.

The firm's platform gives users tools and services to recruit for and conduct moderated and unmoderated research and analysis, producing insights to inform the product innovation process. Individuals, knowns as 'scouts', participate in research, get paid for their feedback, and help shape products and services.

The usability testing feature adds new task questions, continuous recording, prototype testing and usability metrics such as time-on-task and ease ratings - on top of the firm's tagging, automated transcript and highlight reels. These capabilities can be accessed through the dscout Express quick-turnaround unmoderated research product.

The new 'Contributor Seat' option allows research teams to focus on 'high-impact' foundational, generative and evaluative research, while their team-mates in other functions run research on their own, with guard rails and approvals.
