Retail Chain Saks Off 5th Adds Analytics Head

In New York, luxury 'off-price' department store chain Saks Off 5th has appointed former Rakuten CMO Kim Miller as Chief Marketing and Analytics Officer, continuing a senior management restructure with a focus on understanding the customer.

Kim MillerThe company was spun off from world-renowned retailer Saks Fifth Avenue in 1990 and has around 100 stores in the US and Canada selling at discounted prices. Miller (pictured) brings twenty years of experience and was previously CEO of women's apparel company Boutique Brands. In her new role she will oversee customer analytics, insights and engagement, personalization and loyalty, growth marketing, corporate strategy and business development, serving on the executive leadership team.

She succeeds Sara Griffin, who after a brief spell in the role left in August and is now CMO at the Shade Store. Miller reports to CEO Rob Brooks, who comments: 'At Saks Off 5th, we remain steadfast on our journey of customer centricity. Investing in and building improved capabilities around our data and analytics teams is imperative to unlocking a deeper understanding of our customer'.

Before Boutique Brands, iller was CMO for Rakuten, SVP of e-commerce for Charlotte Russe and for Philosophy Inc.; and worked at Macy's and HP.
