Simulmedia Names CEO as Founder Takes Development Role

Video campaign delivery and analysis firm Simulmedia has reinforced its top management with a new structure. Founder and CEO Dave Morgan moves to the role of Executive Chairman, while COO Jon Werther becomes CEO, with greater oversight of operations and day-to-day direction.

Jon WertherBased in New York and founded in 2008, Simulmedia focuses on the automated, data-driven buying of Linear TV advertising, helping to optimized billions of dollars of ad spend across major channels via its TV+ platform. In the past three years TV+ has been expanded to fully integrate ad-supported Connected TV channels like Hulu, Disney+ and Roku.

Morgan will focus on market development, product vision, strategy and partnerships, and told staff in a note this week that with CTV growing from 1% to more than 15% of the company's revenue in the past three years the new structure would allow him to concentrate on making the most of that opportunity. He added: 'I am really lucky to have such a great partnership in place with Jon, who has been an amazing COO for the past one and one-half years and who worked closely with me both at AOL and in the initial build-out of Simulmedia'.

Werther (pictured) returned to the company as COO eighteen months ago after ten years away, during which he worked at mixed martial arts body the Professional Fighters League (PFL), and at media conglomerate Meredith Corporation. Earlier in his career he spent ten years in exec roles at Time Warner and its AOL division.
