Funds for British ID-less Targeting Firm NumberEight

British-based behavioural intelligence platform NumberEight, which provides privacy-focused solutions for advertising, has secured $2.7m in Pre-Series A funding. The money will be used to drive commercial growth, enhance product development and expand in the US.

Abhishek SenNumberEight's on-device AI detects real user behavior and creates focused user segments to allow the delivery of personalized ads without the need for traditional cookies or IDs. Last August the firm unveiled an ID-less ad targeting product called Euclid Lite, which uses AI to predict a user's age and gender. The product pulls in data from a wide range of sources, including demographic information contained within ad requests, content information, app features, census data and device information, and uses natural language processing techniques to enhance the accuracy of the predictions. A key target is the gaming sector.

The funding round was led by ACF Investors, with backing from COREangels, Nauta Capital, Ascension Ventures and Enterprise 100 angels, as well as a number of strategic angel investors including mobile gaming veterans John Libby and Nick Button-Brown.
