Bilendi & respondi's BARI Gets Moderator Skills

European data collection and research tech firm Bilendi & respondi has enhanced its Discuss multi-channel research platform, adding moderation skills for its AI research assistant 'BARI'.

Marc BidouBilendi & respondi offers internally managed online access panels in thirteen European countries: Europe's 'big 5' plus Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria and Norway. It also covers Morocco. Bilendi acquired German sample and panel provider respondi Group two years ago. In June last year the combined company relaunched its Discuss tool with new qual research features based on ChatGPT, and in October it added a Niche Sampling offer, giving access to 'incredibly specific target groups'.

Discuss allows users to conduct research either via social messaging apps or a web portal. The platform's BARI feature (Bilendi Artificial Research Intelligence) serves as a research assistant for qualitative projects, helping researchers to get more detailed verbatims in less time, and has now been enhanced with professional moderation skills, adapting to a participant's 'response content, writing style and length', analysing initial answers and selecting the relevant part on which to probe with follow-up questions - the firm promises 'equal-to-human' moderation skills, but BARI can be switched between automatic and semi-automatic moderation, the latter allowing the researcher to validate questions before sending them. Researchers can also adjust the intensity of moderation, to define the number of follow-up questions BARI will ask.

Bilendi founder and company CEO Marc Bidou comments, 'BARI has been developed to make the work of researchers easier, acting as a real assistant to them. First by providing reliable summaries and analysis and now also by autonomously moderating qualitative projects. For us, reliable, professional and comprehensive results are always essential principles when developing new AI features - and there are more to come'.
