Infor Buys Two Data Firms

In the US, software firm Infor has announced two acquisitions: data migration and management specialist Albanero, and pricing analytics and consulting company Acumen.

Infor Buys Two Data FirmsInfor develops and deploys business cloud software tailored to specific industries and has around 17,000 employees. The firm says both acquisitions strengthen its focus on 'helping customers understand how to translate the deep industry-centric data within their environment into opportunities to generate greater value and profitable growth'.

Albanero's 'data mesh platform' helps client companies including medium-sized businesses maximise the value of their data, moving it into a cloud environment, integrating and managing it; and provides them with a consolidated view of data from different sources.

Acumen's highly specialized consulting and analytics services help CPG companies manage complex pricing strategies including promotions and rebates, and to forecast and respond to rapid changes in their market.

The acquisitions closed on July 1st, and financial terms were not disclosed. Albanero founders, Bruce Douglas and Manish Sharma, Acumen founders Nick Ryan and Matt Wills, and a total of 160 employees from both organizations have joined Infor. CEO Kevin Samuelson says his firm's strategy 'remains fiercely focused on helping customers unlock core value drivers within their industry-specific operations'. He comments: 'The next wave of innovation is completely data driven and generating real value from it begins with a secure industry-rich data foundation'.
