First Results from OzTAM's Streamscape Report

Australian video audience measurement body OzTAM has launched Streamscape, its new quarterly report providing a unified, independent view of all video consumption in Australia, across platforms and demographics.

First Results from OzTAM's Streamscape ReportOzTAM measures broadcast free-to-air (FTA) viewing on TV sets (TAM) in the country's five mainland metropolitan markets and BVOD viewing nationally (VPM). OzTAM and Regional TAM's broadcast TV (TAM) and OzTAM's BVOD (VPM) services are core components of the 'Total TV' measurement service, Virtual Australia (VOZ).

The first Streamscape report, covering the quarter from January to March 2025, reveals that Broadcast TV (free-to-air) accounts for the majority of viewing across the total population, with a 61.5% share; while Digital Video including streaming services (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Youtube and others) makes up 30.1%; and BVOD services represent 8.4%. Sample size is 5,250 homes, across Australia.

Streamscape is available quarterly to paid subscribers, and provides a monthly snapshot of video viewing to TV sets, across key demographics. The organization says future updates will further expand demographic granularity and incorporate viewing on additional connected devices such as smartphones, tablets and computers.

CEO Karen Halligan comments: 'Streamscape is a game-changer for the industry. For the first time, agencies, marketers and media owners can access consistent, comparable data across platforms in a credible format. It's a critical step toward more effective planning and provides a deeper understanding of how Australians engage with video. And this is just the beginning - Streamscape will continue to evolve to further meet the needs of our rapidly changing media landscape.'

OzTAM says the service will evolve from its current document format to a digital, interactive dashboard in the first half of 2026, enabling deeper drill-downs and cross-referencing functionality.
