Worldpanel Becomes Part of Numerator
As of this week Worldpanel is a brand within Numerator. Owner group Kantar first announced the merger of the two companies in January.
Numerator, which was formed just over six years ago and acquired by Kantar in 2021 for $1.5bn, provides proprietary first-party consumer data and technology in the US and Canada. The firm is headquartered in Chicago, and has 5,400 employees worldwide. The majority of these (3,300) are within the Worldpanel division, which gathers data representing nearly 6 billion consumers in more than 50 countries, promising brands an understanding of how people think, shop, and consume. Worldpanel by Numerator tracks more than 563 billion consumer-brand interactions and 4 million consumption moments each year across 130 panels worldwide.
The company has been rolling out MyWorldpanel, a cloud-based data analysis and delivery platform now live in the UK and France, and says it will launch soon in Indonesia, Colombia and Spain. It will also expand its panels in the UK, Brazil and Vietnam, in 2026, and will launch new panels in Algeria and Ethiopia.
'Worldpanel by Numerator is more than a new name' says CEO Eric Belcher (pictured). 'It reflects our acceleration in building a proprietary first-party consumer data company at a global scale. Every day, we capture nearly 5 million items in shopper baskets, each of which is coupled with as many as 2,500 demographic and psychographic attributes for rich analysis.' Guillaume Bacuvier, who leads Worldpanel by Numerator, comments: 'Our purpose remains unchanged. As the global authority on shopper and consumer behavior, we decode how people shop and consume to help brands grow. We are thrilled to accelerate our evolution into a technology company as part of Numerator, while continuing to deliver the gold standard of global consumer data our clients trust Worldpanel by Numerator to provide.'
