BBC Appoints PepsiCo Marketeer
The BBC has announced the appointment of Tim Davie, currently VP, Marketing and Franchise, PepsiCo Europe, as Director of its Marketing, Communications and Audiences division.
Davie joins the Corporation's Executive Board, and will be responsible for all the BBC's marketing, communications, audience research and insight activities and the BBC's audience services department, which includes the BBC's customer call centres.
BBC Director-General Mark Thompson described Davie as 'one of the UK's top marketeers' and said his arrival was important at a time when 'identifying and serving the needs of our audiences will be greater than ever'.
Davie joined Procter and Gamble's marketing department straight from university, becoming a Brand Manager in 1991. He moved to PepsiCo in 1993 as a UK Marketing Manager, subsequently being promoted to Vice President, Marketing, Europe and Sub-Sahara Africa, holding several similar appointments, including in the United States, before taking up his present one as Vice President, Marketing and Franchise.
