Alkemi Rolls Out Natural Language Data Query Platform

Seattle-based Alkemi has launched DataLab, an AI workspace promising 'every employee - from marketing managers to finance leads' the ability to simply interrogate company data.

Connor Folley and Maxwell FolleyAlkemi was founded by CEO Connor Folley and CTO Maxwell Folley (pictured left to right), and DataLab is its flagship product. Users can ask questions in plain English, get answers in seconds, and continue the conversation through natural follow-up. Questions might include things like 'Which campaign lowered customer acquisition cost last quarter?', 'Which regions close deals fastest and why?', and 'Where are margins shrinking and what's driving it?'

The firm says DataLab solves problems of inaccuracy and data leakage associated with employees asking ChatGPT for answers - they can now 'chat directly with governed data securely and at scale.' The software links directly to tools like Snowflake, Databricks and Looker; presents 'transparent answers with a point of view' but also with clear sources; and scalability for large datasets. DataLab also allows data providers to monetize their data assets by publishing AI-ready data products for acquisition by users.

'Everyone knows what it's like to wait on a report,' states co-founder and CEO Connor Folley, 'only to realize that by the time it arrives, the question has changed. DataLab ends that cycle. It gives every team instant insight and a point of view they can trust.'

The firm is on the web at www.alkemi.ai .
