Global Customised Research MD and Board for Nielsen

ACNielsen has globalised David McCallum's role as MD, Customised Research Services - his previous remit was Asia Pacific. McCallum will be based in Sydney, Aus and will report to COO Frank Martell, who is also Senior VP of VNU's Marketing Information Group.

According to Martell, 'The appointment of a Global head for ACNielsen's Customised Research division re-affirms VNU's commitment to its Customised Research business worldwide and is a first step in the company's strategy to leverage its full range of research competencies across the globe'.

McCallum will head up a newly formed Global Customised Research Board represented by all ACNielsen geographic regions, with tasks including the 'globalisation' of a number of proprietary products in full complement to ACNielsen's existing Retail Measurement and Consumer Panel Services.

A statistician by training, McCallum has more than 25 years of MR experience ranging from retail measurement and consumer and media research to concept research and NPD. He began his research career in the UK before relocating to Asia and spending 6 years in Singapore followed by 10 years as MD of ACNielsen Japan.

Also this week, Nielsen announced the appointment of Chantira Luesakul to the position of MD, ACNielsen Thailand. Ms Luesakul takes on her new role in addition to her current responsibilities as Executive Director, Customised Research, ACNielsen Thailand. She has worked for the company since 1984. She also joins the Southeast Asia Management Committee.
