COO Appointment for ESOMAR

Data, research and insights professional association ESOMAR has appointed Patrick de Regt as Chief Operating Officer (COO), based in Amsterdam and reporting directly to the Board.

Patrick de RegtESOMAR was established in 1947 and has expanded from European to global focus - it now serves more than 50,000 individuals and 750 companies in 130 countries. In June this year it announced it had updated its Code of standards, in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), to reflect technological and other changes in the profession - the Code is endorsed by more than 60 associations in more than 50 countries and is mandatory for all ESOMAR members.

De Regt (pictured) brings more than twenty years of experience spanning operations, human resources and business strategy. He joins from ATNi (Access to Nutrition initiative) where he was Interim Head of Operations & HR. Earlier in his career he spent seven years in business development and operations roles at Havas-owned agency Euro RSCG, and since then he has co-founded and co-led business incubator Marktgroep BV and worked as Managing Partner at digital agency Poet Farmer. He holds a degree in Social and Organisational Psychology from Utrecht University and has completed multiple executive programmes at the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland.

In his new role, working closely with Director General Joaquim Bretcha, De Regt will oversee ESOMAR's core operational functions, hile leading the continued modernisation and transformation of internal systems and processes. He is also charged with supporting membership growth and developing new revenue streams. The association's President, Anne-Sophie Damelincourt, comments: 'Patrick joins Esomar at an important time in our evolution as we continue to enhance the value we deliver to our members and partners worldwide, and to strengthen our operations. His deep experience in organisational transformation and his ability to inspire teams through change make him a great leader to help Esomar position itself for the future.'
